This morning I sat down at the computer, opened the Lounge for my morning browse. Something didn't look right, but it took a moment to figure it out. All of the topics in the left panel were displayed bold! I've never seen that before, and the note at the bottom of the panel was especially interesting:

I'm well aware of the double slit experiment and its bizarreness. I think that some of the confusion is in the word "observed", because it doesn't mean "observed by a human observer", it just means "interacted with". That's why Schrodinger's cat is a duff thought experiment - the cat itself is an "observer" and knows if it's alive, so there is never a superposition of states.
