...and most notably their back color property.

I'm using the following code to create instances of picture boxes and display them on a device running PocketPC 2002.

Dim myPic As New PictureBox
myPic.Location = New Point(32, (picCount * 35))
picCount += 1
myPic.Size = New Size(53, 35)
myPic.Text = "newPic" & CStr(picCount )
myPic.BackColor = Color.Black
myPic.Text = "HERE" & picCount

'---add the button to the form
Me.Controls.Add(myPic)
As you can see there are no images in the pictureboxs right now, that in inconsequential regarding the problems that I'm having right now, basically my problem is simply that the pictureBox control will not reflect that its backColor property has been changed to black. Is this a known issue with the .NET CF? Or am I not creating the control correctly?

Big thanks in advance for your help.
