The above code works well on .NET 2005 but when I write the same on 2003 it shows the following error with blue underline on the last line

What is .NET 2005? Do you mean Visual Studio? I think you have different settings for VS2003 and VS2005.

If I am not mistaken this is only warning. You have set "treat warnings as errors" in project properties. Now how to fix it: well, if you work with .NET framework 2.0, don't use XslTransform, use XslCompiledTransform. If you don't, use XslTransform.Transform Method (XPathNavigator, XsltArgumentList, Stream, XmlResolver) [^] overload of Transform().

hi guys
actually i am very much new web applications,
i want to use a repeater controll i have bounded this controll with a list of my custom defined type.
in this object there are three attributes id,name,description,every thing works fine ,i use eval("id") while filling this repeater , and works fine also when i use query string an another page upon selecting any value in repeater , but the thing i want i dont want to show the id attribute in the repeater to client , i just want to show title, description but not id , although i must have to use id attribute also because i have to search some thing on the base of this id unique attribute , there must be a way ,

there are lots of ways for that.
u can use one label in repeater control make it visible=false. and bind ID to text of label.
another way is directly bind Id to link..
<asp:hyperlink id="testhlnk" runat="server" navigateurl="<%# "test.aspx?MYID=" & DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "ID")%>" text="It's MY" target="_self">

Hope i understood you question!! If not, correct me.
Infact, you need to display the ID value in repeater control for some reasons (to be captured in javascript or so). For that, you have to apply CSS.

I used that code to test f I could make outbound connections. On my IIS it worked fine but when I uploaded it gave "Could not connect kind of error". I did comment out all the Proxy code when I ran it on my IIS. GoDaddy has a Proxy server. I've tried all combinations to make it work but it doesn't. GoDaddy claims its a coding error. Is there a simpler code to test whether I ca n make outbound connections froma particular server or something.

What do you mean by "doesn't work" exactly? What happens? Doesn't it draw the way that you expected? Do you get an error message? Does the computer crash and burn?

it just shows there is an image control but that's it.Doesn't draw anything.Just like when you can't see the picture and you have tou right-click it and choose show picture which in this case doesn't work.

Use Server.MapPath to get the physical address from your virtual address, so that the image is saved in the web folder. Otherwise it's saved in the work directory of the ASP.NET enginge, which probably is something like "c:\Windows\System32\".

Oh, so by "setion", you mean session, not section?
If you remove the Shared keyword, the variable will be local to the object, and therefore also local to the thread. Each request that comes to the server is handled in a separate thread.
If you want to keep the value from one request to another, on a user basis, you have to use session variables or cookies.

You create a session variable by adding a value to the collection:
Session["answer"] = 42;
As session variables are of type object, you have to cast them to the correct type when you read them:
int answer = (int)Session["answer"];
You can remove a variable from the collection:
Session.Remove("answer");
You can also remove all variables:
Session.RemoveAll();
