Yes that sounds pretty much what I need to do -- the app works, so the old code behind has all been compiled into .dll and works. I just wanted to be sure that if I reconstruct just one codebehind file as you say, and recompile, the app won't need all the other 30 codebehinds reconstructed as well.

i have created a simple activex control.
it loads successfuly on the aspx page. it displays its user interface as created. ( one text box and a command button )

following is the vb6 code for the activex control

But on click of the command button , value of displaytext property i.e.

and that is Not Happening.

if i use this control in vb.net windows application. it works and value is displayed

Hi guys,

I am very glad to be here. I have a doubt.I have used
window.close(); in javacsript to close a web page. It works fine but it asks for a confirmation/ it displays a message box. But i don't want this message box to be poped up. Is there any way to exclude this message box?
Or can we close a webpage in any other way?

This is being asked for security reasons. You can avoid this by workarounds.
Before calling close(), get the window in a variable and close. HTH.

window.opener=self;
just before the close command.

Assign some value to window.opener. That way IE would get to think that the window is created by you and it would obey the master without any demur.

Problem with access of folder

hi,
in my application i have given facility to upload a zip file on server.
but when uploading file it's giving me error that "d://temp/temp1.zip" access denied.

and i am saving file in outside the application folder.

Why this error is coming ? any idea ?

If you are accessing this zip file from your application, check that application (ASP.NET, IIS in case of Web application) as enough rights to access it

What is .NET 2005? Do you mean Visual Studio? I think you have different settings for VS2003 and VS2005.

hi guys

actually i am very much new web applications,
i want to use a repeater controll i have bounded this controll with a list of my custom defined type.
in this object there are three attributes id,name,description,every thing works fine ,i use eval("id") while filling this repeater , and works fine also when i use query string an another page upon selecting any value in repeater , but the thing i want i dont want to show the id attribute in the repeater to client , i just want to show title, description but not id , although i must have to use id attribute also because i have to search some thing on the base of this id unique attribute , there must be a way ,

there are lots of ways for that.

u can use one label in repeater control make it visible=false. and bind ID to text of label.

another way is directly bind Id to link..

Hey,

Hope i understood you question!! If not, correct me.

Infact, you need to display the ID value in repeater control for some reasons (to be captured in javascript or so). For that, you have to apply CSS.

I used that code to test f I could make outbound connections. On my IIS it worked fine but when I uploaded it gave "Could not connect kind of error". I did comment out all the Proxy code when I ran it on my IIS. GoDaddy has a Proxy server. I've tried all combinations to make it work but it doesn't. GoDaddy claims its a coding error. Is there a simpler code to test whether I ca n make outbound connections froma particular server or something.

What do you mean by "doesn't work" exactly? What happens? Doesn't it draw the way that you expected? Do you get an error message? Does the computer crash and burn?

it just shows there is an image control but that's it.Doesn't draw anything.Just like when you can't see the picture and you have tou right-click it and choose show picture which in this case doesn't work.

Use Server.MapPath to get the physical address from your virtual address, so that the image is saved in the web folder. Otherwise it's saved in the work directory of the ASP.NET enginge, which probably is something like "c:\Windows\System32\".
