Hi all,
I want to encrypt and decrypt some data in Database.I got i code to the same but if the input string length is 16 then it encrypts in double length, I mean when I input string of length 16 : XYZXYZXYZXYZXYZ1 then the output is is of length 32.
Please help me.

The problem is that If I input string of length 6 then the encrypted string must be of length 6 only....

Why? Is this a limitation on your DB field size?
You'll find that any encryption that is at all hard to break will increase the length of your unencrypted string. Otherwise you're just going to be using a simple letter replacement cipher that any bright 3 year old could break.

If you want to encrypt items in this way, then you shouldn't be too pushed to write a simple letter substitution encryption - I'm sure you can find something like this on the net. But i'd really question the value of doing this, all it's going to do is slightly slow your application down, without providing any real protection...

Presently i am working with the R3 wsdl by using the network credntial we are connected to the sap wsdl is there any way to connect r3 without using the networkcredentials and sap.net connector

2. if user modified the page layout or edited some contents, need to show a message to tell user the page has be changed, this time need not to save the changes. of course, the user can continue modify the page, at last the user can save all changes.

hi as you guys should know the standard provider create database and table wit called
ASPNETDB.MDF(database)
aspnet_Membership(table)
i would like to change the names to
datadb(database)
membership(table)
is tis possible and if it can anyone outline the steps involve to do this pls

1. Create a database named datadb
2. From the Visual Studio Command Prompt run aspnet_regsql
3. Choose "Configure SQL Server for application services"
4. Select server and database
5. Add a connection string to the web.config file to this database
6. From the %SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG directory open machine.config file
7. Copy-paste the membership part of the system.web section to your web.config's system.web section
8. Change the name of the provider and the connection string property to your previously added one. Set the defaultProvider property to the name you gave the provider. Example:
<membership defaultProvider="MyMembershipProvider">
<providers>
<add name="MyMembershipProvider" connectionStringName="MyConnectionString" ... />
</providers>
</membership>
This takes care of the first part (custom database name). For the second part you should simply rename the table in the database, then also change the name in the stored procedures created in the database. Hypothetically this should work, but I can't guarantee it will. I think it's worth a shot though.

because i tried this and it just created another db wit the name aspnetdb.mdf

Hi everyone,
I am only new in ASP.Net, and I have a problem about GridView and DetaisView.
And I am using MSSQL2005 as my backend for ASP.Net, but why is it that the GridView doesn't show up if there's no records
Is there a way on how to show the empty GridView and DetailsView? I am stuck with it.
I hope you will quide me how to do it.

hi all 
I have using the web extension with asp.net 2.0. problem is that if we leave the browser open and disconnect the internet connection following message dialog box appear:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 12007
in some other cases message show as follows:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 2
i guess this problem is occur when the timer having on the open browser page
thats Tick event fire.
please suggest how should handle this problem.

hi guys its me again
i already add the membership and role feature to my sql database named (hogdb)
and is now trying to use hogdb as my provider database instread of the default aspnetdb.
i already tried going to the tab website->asp configuration and tryed to select a different datastore for the provider but all my attempt fail
anyone know how i can change the datastore of my provider infomation such as aspnet_Roles
