ASP.NET is server-based technology. You can not connect to a database on the client machine.
You can, using the proper connection string, connect to a remote system. Given the proper permissions of course. Do some research on database connections.

Hallo everyone..
can anyone assist me on how to disable previous date on the AJAX calender.
i create this application using VS 2005. the calender i expected is will automatically disabled the previous date.
eg. today is 15/3/2008. the calender will disable the all the date before 15/3/2008.
i am developing a hotel reservation system

Hi,
I am developing a web application and i am in the middle of the project.
There is a few textbox in a web form and a previous and next button to navigate records.
i want to know that how to navigate records in a textbox on the click event of previous and next button.
please provide me some link or some example throught which i can solve this problem.

Respond to the click events raised by the previous/next button controls, fetch the previous/next record details from your database and populate the textboxes with the appropriate values.
This is pretty basic stuff. If you have no idea how to accomplish this, I suggest you purchase a beginner's ASP.NET book and read through it.

I have created an GridView in which i want to calculate amount using javascript the scenario is like this.
Row 1) Control * Control = Control 1
Row 2) -"-
Row 3) -"-
Row 4) -"-
Row nth) Control * Control = Control nth
Footer Row Total = Control 1 + control nth
Output:
Row 1) 1000 * 1 = 1000
Row 2) 10 * 1 = 10
Row 3) 100 * 1 = 100
Row 4) 1000 * 1 = 1000
Row nth) 1000 * 1 = 1000
Footer Row Total = 3110
the row created at runtime so that i cant used it properly can any one help me i am create this on ASP 2.0 using C# language

I have a login form(user name and password) that reads its data from a database, I need to check the password textbox letters case, e.g. if the user wrote "admin" it will be different than "ADMIN"...
Is there is any function to do that?

in sql server we can't identify Case Sensitive..so if u want then store encripted password in database.means use the encription/decrition method for password .using that u can able to match exact value.

You are hashing your passwords aren't you? You're not just storing them in the database as clear text?
If you aren't, this is a big security risk. Password hashing is easy if you use the ASP.NET 2.0 Membership API; it does it for you with the default SQL provider.

I have a javascript calender (Inside a Panel) that will not be displayed when the form load. when the user first click on the button, the invisible calender will be displayed. i want to hide this calender on the next click..how to do it continously..?

let me explain the problem. you will find subdivision .On its selection product dropdownlist is filled but it is consuming some time on main server(where database and code are not on the same machine ) whereas in test server (where database and code are on the same machine ) it does not consume any time I would like to know how to I speed up the process.

500-600 records is still quite a lot of data to display in one go. Do your users actually need to see this many records at one time? The amount of HTML required to render out all these items will increase your page size and therefore its download time. Consider fetching items asynchronously, so the dropdownlist loads in the background but the user can still use the page.
