OK, then I guess they haven't done the page yet. I don't know, but I know they were going to do the 2009 MVPs imminently.

I created a DLL (class library) on C#.NET (2005) and want
to use it as an ActiveX control on a web page (html).
I have checked the box for Make "assembly COM visible" in the
project properties before I build the DLL. Code does do much,
here is my C# code for ctrl
namespace MyActiveXctrlLib
{
public partial class MyUserCtrl : UserControl
{
public string setName
{
set
{
txtName.Text = value;
}
}
public MyUserCtrl()
{
InitializeComponent();
}
}
}
here is my HTML
<title>Untitled Page
<object id="myControl1" name="myControl1" classid="MyActiveXctrlLib.dll#MyActiveXctrlLib.MyUserCtrl" width="288" height="50">
function doScript()
{
myControl1.setName = frm.txt.value;
}
on button click doScript(); is executed .
it sets the setName property of myControl1 i.e. WinForm control.
this code working successfully on IE 7.0 machine having .NET installed on them
but is not working on Machine those dnt have .NET installed on them.
not checked on IE 6.0.
Thanks in advance .

Well, duh.
You need to write your control in C++ if you don't want your users to have to have .NET installed.

I have a web site project (Yes, I know, let's not go in to that. What's done is done and I wasn't here at the time) in a Visual Studio 2005 solution that I am migrating from Visual Source Safe to Subversion.
So far, I've managed to migrate all the projects and remove the bindings to VSS except one. The Web Site project stubbornly refuses to let go of the bindings. If I manually remove them from the solution file using notepad they reappear some time later. Since a web site project has no project file of its own I'm at a bit of a loss as to where else to look.
Can anyone help?

Sorry,
That does not appear to be what I'm looking for.
I don't want to delete or rename things. I want to keep the files with the same names, but I don't want the existing source control bindings to remain as I'm moving to subversion.

Not sure whether this will help you.
You can unbind the source control information in VS2005 by going to "Tools --> Options --> Source Control" and change the current source control plug-in to "none".
This will remove the source control binding.

Sir
Can you try the following steps:
1. Select All the files of project. Check the Properties, remove the read only.
2. Search for vssver2.scc, hidden system file. Delete this file.
It should remove the source from VSS, as it works for me.

You need to delete 3 files
1.vssver.scc
2.mssccprj.scc
3.YourProject.vssscc
and Please Check This, It will Resolve Your Problem[^]

As it is a web site project there is no project file. But they are gone for the other real projects.

I've also done what's in there too. So, here's hoping it all works.
I've tried opening and closing the solution a couple of times now and the bindings are gone still.

Amandeep Singh Bhullar wrote: Select All the files of project. Check the Properties, remove the read only.
Okay - Done that.
Amandeep Singh Bhullar wrote: Search for vssver2.scc, hidden system file. Delete this file.
Okay - Done that too.
I've also removed the reference to SCC in the solution folder. And removed the SUO file. Visual Studio picked up the changes and... I still see the bindings.
I closed VS2005 and I notice that its updated the solution file and added the bindings back. (The vssver2.scc file is still gone though.) I presume VS must have had the bindings in memory. So, I remove them again. And open the project by double clicking the solution in Explorer. The bindings are back again.
If I go to File->Source Control->Change Source Control... I see that the Website project has bindings and the others don't. I press the the project and press the "Unbind" button and Okay the dialog. After a few moments the bindings disappear.
I close VS and then open the solution again by double clicking the solution file in Explorer. The bindings are still gone.
I've been to this point before, but after a reboot the bindings came back.
Do you see anything that I'm missing?

Everything seems to be working now. I've opened and closed the solution a few times, rebooted, and so on. The bindings seem to have gone for good (I hope).

Hi,
My Listbox control works fine, at design and run-time. One minor bug (if I can call it that way) is that the ListItems aren't displayed inside the control as the original Listbox does at design time. The collection works fine and they are shown at run-time fine too.
I'm posting some code I think it's important, if you find usefull, I'll post the whole Listbox code.
Just one more thing: I don't want the "Selected" property be available at design time. I tried [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] but it didn't do anything.
ListBox:
public class ListBox : System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl
{
private ListItemDataCollection listData = null;
public ListItemDataCollection ListItems
{
get
{
if (listData == null)
{
listData = new ListItemDataCollection();
}
return listData;
}
}
protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter output)
{
if (Rows > 1)
{
output.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Size, Rows.ToString());
if (MultipleSelections)
output.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Multiple, true.ToString());
}
base.Render(output);
}
protected override void CreateChildControls()
{
Controls.Clear();
for (int i =0; i < ListItems.Count; i++)
{
Controls.Add(ListItems[i]);
}
}
public override ControlCollection Controls
{
get
{
EnsureChildControls();
return base.Controls;
}
}
}
ListItem:
[ToolboxItem(false),
ToolboxData("<{0}:ListItem runat=server>"),
TypeConverter(typeof(ExpandableObjectConverter))]
public class ListItem : System.Web.UI.Control
{
public ListItem(string text, string value)
: base()
{
Text = text;
Value = value;
}
public ListItem() { }
public ListItem(string text, string value, bool selected)
: this(text, value)
{
Selected = selected;
}
#endregion
public string Text
{
get
{
object text = ViewState["Text"];
if (text == null)
return string.Empty;
return (string)text;
}
set
{
ViewState["Text"] = value;
}
}
public string Value
{
get
{
object value = ViewState["Value"];
if (value == null)
return string.Empty;
return (string)value;
}
set
{
ViewState["Value"] = value;
}
}
[EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)]
public bool Selected
{
get
{
object selected = ViewState["Selected"];
if (selected == null)
return false;
return (bool)selected;
}
set
{
ViewState["Selected"] = value;
}
}
protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer)
{
base.Render(writer);
writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Value, Value);
if (Selected)
writer.AddAttribute(HtmlTextWriterAttribute.Selected, true.ToString());
writer.RenderBeginTag(HtmlTextWriterTag.Option);
writer.Write(Text);
writer.RenderEndTag();
}
}
public sealed class ListItemDataCollection : List<listitem>{}
</listitem>

I am working on an asp.net application. I have a class file, in which I want to get physical path (location) of the file (on which I am working on) at runt time.....
Path can be something like "D:/Projects/myweb/"
Remember, I cannot use server.mappath() because it is not an aspx file, rather a simple class (.cs) file.
|
|
|
|
|
I don't think you can do this - the .cs file will be compiled into a DLL which is wouldn't contain the actual file reference. Since a DLL is portable, having a reference to where the file was developed wouldn't make any real sense.
It definitely isn't definatley

Add name space "System.web" in your class file..
Get application path by following line of code:
string applicationpath = HttpContext.Current.Server.MapPath("");

My Question is how can we access DataTable events inside a Dataset in ASP.NET because I can't access the Partial Class for writing logic for RowChanging or RowChanged events. Thanks in advance !
AliAmjad
First make it Run THEN make it Run Fast!
|
|
|

You can access the DataTable as a property of the DataSet and then refer to the events from there so you should be able to subscribe to the event dataset.Tables[0].RowChanged
It definitely isn't definatley
