One of the things you can do, is to cache the controls you have in the master page using OutputCache directive on top of the master page. That way all the controls in the master page are cached for whatever the time you want them to be.

hello i m creating a dropdownlist binded from database...
now i m having a link to Add More to add more dropdownlist these dropdownlist are having their option from database...i successfully done that but on change event of dropdownlist i want to create child dropdownlist binded from database... u can see the example here[^]
please tell me how to solve this problem...the first dropdownlist displays category and the second one subcategory....

Bind the child DropDown list in the Selectedindex changing event of
the parent DropDown list

One way is to pass sessionid in query stirng and put varybyparam with sessionid as key.
But as we all know passing sessionid in query string is a security threat.

Visual Studio has a control called CrystalReportViewer that you can put on the page.In the properties for that control you will be able to browse to the location where you have .rpt files.

I have an option for export to excel in my webpage.When i click on that button, the save dialogbox appears but it remains hidden behind the webpage. So one have to minimize in order to enter filename and path.How can i put the dialogbox on top.

Thanks for the reply,but the actual problem is i have the xml file in the same folder and that will be expanded sometimes.If that is the condition i have to change the code every time.To avoid that what i can do?.And in this solution when i am clicking the combobox in the second time it is getting duplicated.I can add the values in another way without duplicating like this

Hi all,
i have multiple update panels with buttons .i open a popup which is a new page when i click on the button using javascript code.All update panels open the same popup.I need to update the parent which opened this popup once i close the popup.I also know how to refresh the update panel when i close the popup
What i was unable to find out is how to find out which button(which ) has opened this popup.so that i can update that specific update panel
The sample code is shown below

able to fix the same thanks a lot sundar.
my approach was
1)i pass the div id which opens the page using querystring url
2)raise a method in parent from popup to execute and pass this divid (which i read from querystring using javascript code) and use it to refresh the parent update panel
3)the method in parent has code to refresh the respective update panel passed as parameter to it.
