Two menus, but only one web.sitemap file

From what I understand, there can be only on web.sitemap file.

However if I want to create a master page with two menu's, one horizontal menu and one vertical menu at the same time,
then how do I construt it?

Should one of the menus be a static menu while the other menu's datasource be web.sitemap?

My Requirement
Horizontal menu1 should show ==> Home, Blogs, View Photos

Hi there,
I am not sure where did you get your info of couldnt have multiple sitemaps, but its not true, you can and you have to specify multi sitemap provider therefore, here is a link that will help you:

I am in need of writing an application ,as soon as i deployed an application in asp.net server it has check automatically a column of a table depending the value i have to send emails on daily basis(that means when a day changes it has to automatically scan the entire table based on that it has to send emails..)please help me out in this matter

Hi,

You can schedule triggers on database based on time condition.
Or

You can execute a function that check the current date value after a specified time period and if old date and new date is not equal then you can execute your code.

If your database is SQL Server, I would create a SQL Agent job that runs on a schedule to scan the table. Then you can use database mail to send the emails.

Hi,
I am a starter in asp.net. i've created a project containing a folder called "Login"
with some pagesin it. When i run the project and type a page name in the browser address bar it lists all the other pages in it. I want to block it and redirect it towards a single page named Login.aspx in that folder.
Plz Help.

When you type the URL in the list bar, it will list all the previously visitied pages.

It cannot be blocked till you delete the history.

If I understood correctly, you want to restrict the user to access any other page until he does not go through the Login process. Right?
You can use a session variable(say Session["IsValidatedUser"]) and check its value on each page load, if its not set than redirect to the login.aspx

P.S. : A nice way would be to implement a class which can be used to derive all the web pages. Rose | [Rose]

Do you mean that browsing is enabled in IIS - http://blog.crowe.co.nz/archive/2006/03/18/603.aspx[^]? Do you also have default page content enabled/specified - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/dc6eb1b4-9028-4308-9935-52b64edfad36.mspx?mfr=true[^]?

May be you could on to "Directory browsing" Option in ISS. In web.Config you can set for making a page as default,

How can i get the value from a database to a checkbox ?
I want to retrieve a single field from the table in a checkbox. I can do it using Checkboxlist but there is no point using checkbox list for a single field.

You have a single checkbox ? So you return true or false from your SQL call.

get the values from table and assign in to one variable like this:

act=ds.Tables[0].Rows[0]["active"].ToString();

if (act == "False")
{
ChkAct.Checked = false;
}
else
{
ChkAct.Checked = true;
}

Thanks for the reply.
But what i am trying to ask is - For Instance there is a country table and i just want to retrieve France from the database and to be displayed as a checkbox in the web form.
For this do i have to set a text property of the checkbox to France or is it possible to get it populated from database itself.
Like for checkboxlist you have something like below:-

Thanx. When I click the button (ie)it should show like the save file dialog and ask for file name to save and store the full path in a string type variable in asp.net with c#. its urgent.

Anyway, have a look at Response.BinayWrite method to basically flush the binay data(which will be your file) to the client. You need to get the file from the server. SO here are the steps:

1.) Google for 'Download file using Asp.net'[^]
2.) Google for 'Reponse.BinaryWrite asp.net'[^]

NO This feature is not use in ASP.net

If you want to save any file then make a dynamic link.
And when clicking on this link it will ask to save file.
