I know Rabih, he show me his question in skybe, I told him i don't know, post it a forum, I told him to post in msdn, he told me he will post in msdn and codeproject, my answer to him was, i will buy popcorn and watch you get insulted. and we make a bet on that.
He post the same question is msdn, and got response, and the answer was from 2 people post an article in codeproject.
i am not here to defend on his name, but this site is well knows as insulting people. he got 180 degree in response in 2 forum asked the same question. I guess that d@nish enjoying making fun of new comming people as most of member here (not you).

The point here is that d@nish did not make fun of him. All he did is to give some very good advice. Rabih then reacted as if he had the right to get an answer that suited him. When he didn't he behaved like a spoiled brat and became rude.
All I did is point out his error.
I am pleased that he got a response that suited him, but if he had bothered to read the documentation for the control, he would have had no reason to post to any forum.

MSDN Documentation[^] which the poster didn't check would have answered all his questions and then some.
Obviously if straying from the intended use of the built-in functionality of the control would imply that a custom control that enhances the functionality would be needed. If the poster couldn't figure that out himself then good luck with making an application that does more then pick dates..

Actually d@nish didn't insult anyone. All he did is tell the guy to try it. It's amazing what you can find out if only you try something first. The attitude d@nish got in reply was totally uncalled for.

Here, it would have been the same kind of responses, but leaning more towards buying a book. Why? Because there's a lot more to declaring a variable to hold an Integer other than Dim x As Integer. There's also scope and visibility issues to consider. All of that discuss would take an entire chapter in a book. So, yes, buying a book and learing the basics of the language would be a better answer than Dim x As Integer.

As if this multiple backcoloring system ability is obvious/noticable property and every one should know it (WHICH IS NOT), in case that was true, I am 100% with d@nish response (whatever it was) because we did not see it. (but that was not the case)

Did d@nish try it? Did he put that 2 controls on a form and try to achieve that (in simple way) before he ask his question? because if he do, he will know that this property is not there. since he did not test, (in my opinion) he should not response with such an answer)
So (my first impression) he is making fun and he has no right since he did not test it him self.
When you answer "Did you try it" or "Check the help file" the answer supposed to be obvious AND the person who answer SHOULD know that the answer exist in "TESTING" or "READING" the help file.
If d@nish answer was "What have you tried?" yes, it will make a difference, because this answer will show that either this question has no specific question in it, and d@nish did not understand in specific the problem and he willing to help when he knows. but pointing Rabih to try it by him self and the solution is not there??I guess that is wrong. I knew that. He knew needed a customized control or needs to paint things himself. But, I do not believe in spoon feeding. If you are working in any programming language, you are bound to face challenges. I am a vb programmer working as freelancer and I have 5 projects right now, so if one in my project I see a control that maybe usefull to any of application, should I re-create it AGAIAN?
