Hello!
I have a few questions in terms of my updated article:
Yesterday I submitted an update of this article[^] with new attachments.
Today (at 02:08, CET) I received the email that my latest changes have been approved.
But why the article status is "draft"? (But I can view the website without being logged in).
And why my article is not in the list "Latest Updates"?
And why highlighting of php is not supported?
And why sometimes I cannot (i.e. being redirected to an empty, white page, even "Browse Code" does not work) download my attachments except the one I did not touched (sporadically, reproduced with Firefox and Chrome)?
If you find spelling- or grammer-mistakes, please let me know, so that I can correct them (at least for me) - english is not my first language...

Hi Henning,
Thanks very much for your inquiries. I took a look at the status of your article and its possible you experienced a caching issue and the article is good standing. I have also just applied a change to your article and I can see it in the Latest updates. Please let me know if you also see it there as well. The change I applied was changing the language tag "php" to all your code blocks. We'll have to look into why it is not colorizing correctly - thanks for the catch.
As for the Browse Code, I've tried it in both FireFox and Chrome on two different servers and it seems to be working OK?

thank you for your help!
Now the article is as it should be - it is listed in the Latest updates and the attachments are working fine, too.
BTW: I had changed the language tags to "cs" as c-sharp is very similar to php in terms of syntax-highlighting...

Hello everyone,
I've used some <pre...> formatting features as described in Using PRE tags on Code Project. This worked fine until Smitha Vijayan changed it. All highlighting, background and foreground as described in Using PRE tags on Code Project got removed. I was counting in my tips to have these settings respected by the editors. It's a bit annoying that these changes get silently done - no email, no message - nothing.
Please have a look at the two versions:
What can I count on when writing an tip? Is the above mentioned article about formatting in the <pre...> respected by the editors too? I would very much appreciate...

PS: How can I get the formatting restored - it's quite some work to redo (I did not find any way to get to the sources of the former version that was still ok).

I've spoken to Smitha and we'll restore the formatting. I haven't had a chance to look closely at both versions, but can I assume the latest version has updated content, but that you want the formatting to reflect what was in the previous version?

I don't get exactly your last question. If you ask what kind of formatting I was using that got removed, here are the ones:
- <pre lang="cs">...<span class='highlight'>...</span>...</pre>
- <pre lang="text" style="background: black; color: white;">...</pre>
some console output...
I know of the issues with too many formatting features applied, but I think the above is more helpful than the one below:
- <pre lang="cs">...<span class='highlight'>...</span>...</pre>

A couple of things.
1. When you post an article, you can include notes for editors. If you have none standard formatting that you want preserving you should set this.
2. Why did you name the editor? There was no need for that. It serves to make your post look vindictive.

Currently the pre tag lang is Javascript. Same issue with the pre tag cs.

There always have been some issues with the coloring as soon as string literals appear. I suspect too much Regex code has been used. What is it exactly you don't like?

That isn't valid C# code, either use @ or escape the backslash!
As a result the code following it got comment colored, and the strings are in black.

Correct. In the initial code sample the backslash was escaped. The trick is to use the @"C:\" variant.

Apart from the string issue, I also set the language to HTML (though XML or ASP.NET will work the same) which has improved the colouring.
This is ASP.NET, since it includes markup tags.

This is javascript, because it's actual javascript, not Javascript embedded inside ASP.NET

Edit the article, and at the top right in the title area is the Article type that, when clicked, allows you to change the type.

It was a long fight with old versions being shown, when I tried to edit a tip. I changed the browser inbetween the rounds of the battle. I am not sure what made it such complicated, but I see from the html source of the page that no "expires" header is set.
May I suggest to add "expires" headers both in the html source and the http headers when editing/previewing/submitting a tip or an article?

Another problem was that I tried to delete a file which I had attached - I could not do it with Firefox 7.0.1, but it worked with IE (I am not sure if that was connected with the browser cache). When I uploaded the correct file later on, the link to it was generated automatically (browser cache again?). The preview did often not correspond to the html source.
