My intention, as I have repeated multiple times, was to prevent dangerous code from being disseminated. You are an MVP. Your articles carry a lot of weight and the assumption that what you write is solid code.

You've completely ignored my point. The point I've made many times.
Your article contained dangerous information and you gave no indication of when or how your update would take place. You had access to your article at all times and you could have simply updated and republished it.
I was not willing to keep dangerous code lying around indefinitely.

I've got to applaud this. A not so well known author, whose exit from this site would have had next to zero effect on the site's popularity vents his feelings. And you spend 45 minutes replying to him in detail, reassuring him, and ended up with a cordial solution. Sometimes it's the little things

Hello Dear Syed Shanu
I was really confused and upset from this matter.
On the one hand it was just a bit unfair to delete your article but on the other hand you are MVP developer and you should not delete all of your articles.
Your problem just was a challenge in your life and if they deleted your article it does not mean your value is low, it just means you have a lot reputation and just for the sake of this you should prepare so more valuable and very near to standard line article, just because you are a most valuable professional you have to decrease your fault or gap in your article, so please go on and correct it instead of deleting all of your articles, your articles are so precious and please think that how many people are using them and refer to your knowledge and by removing it you just deprive good opportunity from developer in order to using your articles.
I know that maybe someone`s points are not so kindly when they wanted to consider your deficits and they can behave more kindly but it is not a good reason for you to leave everything that you made them hardly during more years, but as I read comments I found out that Chris motivated you strongly to update your article, I think he just want to see your articles without any shortage and otherwise never ever he or his community did not select you as MVP.
I hope see your updated article and the rest of other articles that you have deleted as soon as possible.

Gone by now... the problem is the other 38 remaining. I know that face from other moderation items, I have tried to do my 5c but when it gets approved... all gets away.

It is.
Unfortunately there were too many high votes that still outweighed the low votes. A few more big guns downvoting would have tipped the scales.
However, the big guns brought out the really BFGs. The article is no more.

What if votes placed by a gold or platinum member wouldn't be removed at all, regardless of high votes? I believe that could level the situation and votes from these members are more likely to be, how should I say, valid...

Why was it deleted though? It looks like a decent article, lots of effort, screenshots, code samples and detailed explanation. 40,000 views since December. 2000 code-sample downloads and 50 bookmarks. Can't have been bad enough to have got deleted surely?

OK - so nobody will ever be happy with the voting system, but how about this suggestion:
"Force" anyone reading an article to actively decide not to vote.
If they leave the page without voting, pop up and tell 'em "Thanks for reading, your feedback will really be appreciated. You can vote 1-5 or N/A - where N/A means this really wasn't appropriate for my needs or IO landed here by mistake.
Personally I would default the vote to 3 - but the N/A readers might just accept that which would skew the ranking so it may be better to default to N/A - but making it easy to vote (like maybe 5 buttons) would be imperative - with a text box for any comments (which, I suppose, could be mandatory under certain circumstances)
If everyone is forced to vote this would hopefully go some way to getting a more accurate feel of how useful/good the article is?

This will generate a lot of uninformed votes from those who go to an article via search, scan the first few lines, and then leave when they realise it's not what they were after.
