Why? I've never had a problem eating stuff before (except dairy rich foods). I think a lot of these things (like don't eat before swimming) are old wives tales.

Unless you are an avid athlete and work out a lot, the food you eat before bed, turns to fat. If you are young (before 30) this may not be an issue, but as you get older it will be.
I would then ask you, are you physically fit or physically fat? Not trying to be mean or offensive, just a question with relevance to the subject.
and you are not supposed to eat before swimming because it can cause stomach cramps, as with me. So, no, it is not a wive's tale.

Pretty fit, not much fat: have never exercised as you only get so many heartbeats and I don't want to use them up too soon. I guess I have good genetics.
