If you read it, it does make a lot of sense:
"But Wallace’s son said they refused to help until paramedics arrived." That's sensible - if you have two nurses and a suspected broken hip, then they aren't going to want to move her on their own. They'd be afraid of making the injury a lot worse as well as of causing considerable pain to the woman. Paramedics are trained (and equipped) to lift casualties; nurses aren't.
Herself works in an old folks home; all the staff are trained how to lift and move clients. But unless it's a fire, you get the professionals to lift badly injured ones!

That may be a valid interpretation, I read it that they have a systemic problem, and if so the someone MUST explain that to the broken little old lady lying bleeding on the doorstep.

They did render assistance!
Certainly in the UK, nurses can't prescribe painkillers and while they are trained to lift patients, it's using equipment they will find in the ward (or other area they work in) and which is not intended for lifting casualties. They would know that "inappropriate" treatment could make things worse and while one of them should probably have gone to A&E to fetch a doctor / paramedic, calling for an ambulance wasn't that silly an idea - given that you'd expect ambulance staff to be trained and equipped for just this kind of emergency!

The Toronto Star loves a sensational headline when they can get it. Lord knows they've been in the doldrums since our crack smoking Mayor had to step down due to his cancer.
30 mins before someone helped, paper towels to clean up blood, a dirty towel to wrap the wound.
A little difficult to ascertain the true facts in this one, but regardless of whether nursing staff felt it was wise to move a patient, surely, at a hospital, basic first aid involving actual first aid things like bandages, antiseptic wipes and maybe even a cup of tea for the old dear wouldn't be too much of a stretch. Given they were actually in a hospital.
Having experienced the Canadian health system many times in my current Call Of Duty I can attest that it doesn't work on the principle of haste.

I have been trying to find an answer to this question, because sometimes I make changes to my blog with what people find in Code Project. Comments are helpful in making the article better to understand and I would like to change it in one place instead of editing the article on Code Project and then going to my blog to change it there as well. I would rather just change my blog and update the article on Code Project with my updated blog entry.
I totally messed up my Code Project article and had to delete it because it was ruined by my edits. Now the article will not appear again. Just a wish list item, but if someone has found out how to do this, I would really like to know how. Thanks for all of your support and articles! Code Project is the best around.
