Every year or so a "frightening scenario" that must be regulated is laid out by some executive and I always get the feeling that their demands for regulation mean "the other guys, especially upstarts".
The second problem is that they insist policy makers must be educated without grasping that governments will be more than happy to claim exclusive rights to whatever boogy-tech is in question. (Of course, the higher execs are lining up to get the contracts, and the Brads won't even get bonuses.)

Probably the hardest thing for me is to start writing from scratch. If there is no code already there, it is all too easy to get lost in the details and not actually be able to get anywhere. "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."
