Do you have any ad blockers or tracking blockers (eg uBlock?)
Unfortunately I'm unable to replicate the issue.

Yes, but CP is an exception... And I have the add-blocker for years but never had that experience...

Same experience I had. Explicitly logout and then login again, for me it worked.

It happened to me on my work computer, on my home computer and on my phone...
It means Chrome and Firefox...
However Matthew's magic worked as I haven't see the issue in the last 12 hours...

Chris has tossed this one to me.
There were some Redis Issues around the time you reported that you were having issues.
I have reset your cache data, hoping that this might fix the issue.
I also had to re-login a couple of times on the weekend, but it seems to be working fine now, of course.
Could you tell me if you are still getting the problem.
Also check your AdBlocker whitelist. We have had reports that some updates to the AdBlocker and/or the Spam site lists are messing these up.

When composing a message in the forums, the cancel buttons is triggering nothing.
I have to hit "back" or close the tab to abort the action of writing the message (or post blank and then delete it).
No matter if a new message (like an answer) or editing an old one

And it seems to be back with a vengeance. Almost every time I open QA now, I get a different set of random filters in the box.
I empty the box and click "update", and it seems to take. But then a few minutes later, it's set again.
No sign of the cookie you were looking for last time. The cookies I have are:

The only obviously odd thing is the duplicated lpk and mguid cookies. The values appear to be the same, although they have different expiration dates.

Thanks mate. This one continues to evade us and so maybe it's the case we simply turn it off for now, rip the code out and start from scratch. There's some mold in there somewhere that bleach just isn't fixing.

Making a small change in my profile and I couldn't save without having to supply my password.
OK - not outrageous - done by financial institutions, &etc.
Problem: the only place it seems I can enter it is in the 'change password' area. That was not my intention. Could this added security measure just pop-up a 'enter password', or even more clever, have a space for the password near 'SAVE' and disable SAVE until entered and matched?

It's annoying because you have to hover over a "change password" link to enter it. If password it required on all saves, then it needs to be part of the main form and not in a popup.
Also, having a popup for changing password is just bad design to begin with.

Yes, the design is awful. There's no indication that you're being asked for your password. I had to come here and read this before I could work out how to change my email address.
- Pfft. Coddled kids. In my day, we used to telnet to port 80, then render the page with pencil and paper-- and that's the way we liked it!
- Pshaw! Youngster. Your UID barely fits inside 16 bits. In _my_ day we had to whistle the 1's and 0's through an acoustic coupler!
Tools that support "all of UTF-8 as long as it starts with ASCII" and tools that cannot handle these three [BOM] bytes at all are not really supporting UTF-8.

I keep noticing people who, instead of adding missing info to the original question, post pages of code and stuff in comments or even as a solution.
I've wondered if they missed the green [Improve question] button because it's not always visible?
Then I wondered, why should it hide at all? Why is it not showing all the time? And that is my suggestion.
P.S.:
When I say button, another pet peeve of mine is stuff that behave like a button, but don't look like one! How should I know that some colored text in a corner is in fact an actionable element (i. e. a button)? How are new users supposed to know?
But that is a separate issue, on a much wider scope...
