Only my view, please don't take it to start a discussion.
From my own experience I think, ban a member like Bram van Kampen - Professional Profile[^] should be _only_ the responsibility of the site operators.
It does not solve my Problem, but it answers my question

Sorry but (as usual) I don't agree.
The guy is here more than long enough to know where the limits are. Has taken every try to warn him in that thread as a "What? I didn't do anything wrong" and then came again with the same insulting and trolling in the second part of the message.
The site operators will still have the last word anyways and can reinstate the account if they think a temporary ban is enough. But I think they won't because the guy is already known for beding the limits in several ocasions, and this time has gone a bit too far.
If you really think it is _only_ site admins responsibility, then summon Sean or Chris to have a look (although I suppose they have already or will do it anyways).

Yes, it is their job...
among creating new functionality, managing the infrastructure involved, hunting and fixing bugs and trying to keep everything running smooth so that we can enjoy this site.
Ah, and not to forget that they are humans too and have right to have private life and other things to do. And that they live in the other part of the world (compared to us) and there are some hours offset to our living cycles.
The biggest purpose of this concrete forum is that they trust us and delegate on us to keep the site clean so they don't have to read every one post every one thread posted here.
They have implemente the "@" summong exactly for the purpose to be able to call the attention of any user of the site (specially them) when appropiated.
If you really think it is _only_ their responsibility to handle about that user, you should summon them before the user gets nuked by the community. If you don't then you make your own comment / opinion / complain totally worthless, because by the time they read this messages (if they come here and read it), it will be more than late and then we will be in the situation I previously stated: they still have the last word and can reinstate if they want to.

Don't get me wrong, I love this site, but also I think some decisions should not be taken by volunteers.
Again, this is only my view (a view of maybe a one cell), others most probably differs

I'd agree - and I see no reason why the rules should be different for long term members and newbies; if anything after 17 years he definitely should know the limits. My personal feeling is that at the minimum there should be a few weeks ban - though a "proper" ban is probably appropriate as that first message was pretty clearly intended to elicit a reaction.

If this should be the case, then myself need to be banned too and I don't see a reason why I'm still accepted as a member here...
I crossed the borders more than one time - in a much more strange way - but I learned and they let me still be here.
Let also other members learn

The last one, you were under pressure when you crossed the line, you were told that you crossed the line and you corrected the message and you said sorry.
He has not done any of it, each time he was warned about crossing the limits, he said "No, I don't" and came back to the same line of message crossing the limits.
We all can have a bad day, but I think this time is not the same situation, he was doing it on purpose and knowing he shouldn't. At least is the impression he gave me.
