To all you wordlers out there - do you use the same starter word every day ? I used to but recently I just use a random word.

Audio, then stern for me. That captures the vowels and most common letters.

Yep I use audio first too bec you get so many vowels checked all at once.

I used to use TINEA, but have switched to AROSE after a spell with AEROS because the vowel placement is better.
I'm trying to identify common vowels (and very common consonants) with the first word as it eliminates so many possibilities.
Admittedly, it probably reduces your chances of a "one guess" solution, but the odds on that are pretty poor anyway.

I've read that Crane is the best starter for non hard mode and dealt for the hard mode

I always use the same two three-vowel starters, in random order.
"If we don't change direction, we'll end up where we're going"

I start with STARE and then try to add some of D/I/L/N/O for letters that aren't in the solution.

I used to always start with ADIEU followed by STORY unless the first guess E was yellow, then the 2nd guess would be STORE. A little over 50% of the time I'd solve in 4, ~65-70% in 3 or 4 (once at 2).
Then I visited my sister and forgot to play. So my 80+ winning streak was broken - too bad so sad.
When I got back to civilization I started playing in hard mode. Now I use AROSE as my starter. The next guesses depend on what hits I get. Once in a while, on a whim, I will start with RAISE instead. I still solve a little over 50% in 4, a little over 70% in 3 or 4. I've played 38 in hard mode so far with one loss, current streak is 33.

Generally start with STARE / RIOTS / STRAP. One day I started with TRAIN and got it in one... never again!
Sometimes in a bored moment I'll use their Wordle "analyser" thingy. ("WordleBot" from the top-left menu). It comes up with "You've used your daily allowance" or some such message, but I then "Inspect" the page and just delete the DIV that covers the lower half. (I do this far more than I probably should with paywalls... )

Ha!
You did not use the starter you suggested me. I used that starter, but replaced 'o' with 'i'. With this starter for me it was clear I have only two options in the second guess
