Hi,
is just using WS_EX_RTLREADING for control enough to use right-to-left reading order or there's some more code to add? Do I need to use WS_EX_RIGHT as well?
Is WS_EX_RTLREADING automatically used when the OS is using right-to-left reading order? If I add this style with an OS in english, controls will display text in left-to-right order. I guess that only r-t-l is triggered automatically?

i was working with WS_EX_RTLREADING this option in VC 6.0 in not defined. so u should define it manually. when u use it the windows was mirrored. and all action was right to left. but this option closely was OS dependend. when u use it u should test controls such as edit box for proper operation (left align or right align text).

Yesterday I brought Microsoft Visual Studio 2003. But when i startet the tool today, i couldn't find where i can add controls to the dialog. Yesterday it was still there, but today i really couldn't find. I hope someone can me just tell how i get it back.

Not if the user scrolls via the scroll thumb. In this way, the OnVScroll message is not activated by the windows framework...only by clicking the scrollbar arrow buttons.

Has anyone worked with Installshield for Visual C++ . I basically need to create a folder in the start menu and then add a list of EXE's to it . Any help is appreciated !

Check out www.jrsoftware.org ... There's a free program on there called Inno Setup. (It does the same things as InstallShield). It has a wizard and you pretty much tell it the files that you want and it compiles them into one setup.exe file for you (or it can break it down). It also creates the start menu folder, desktop icons (if you desire), and uninstallation that's all automatic. It's very sweet. You can put together a full setup program complete with installation, multiple .EXE's, installation of .DLL's, .OCX's, etc in under 5 minutes!

Hi.
u can use Install Shield Express - Borland Lemited Edition that come with Delphi 6.0 install CD. i think that this is a free version. this version is fully compatible with microsoft visual c++ and so easy to use.

If I set tab-oreder,
than at run-time CDialog is looking corectly,
but at design view of Dialog
z-order of controls remains not changed -
not dependent from tab-order,
so wrong looking...
It is a probem.
I need to desing Cdialog and view it correctly,
so - is there a way, like in Ms Word - ability "send control back of order" -in design view ?

There should be no problem.
1) Select: Layout -> Tab Order
2) Click on controls in the order you wish.
3) Select: Layout -> Test (or select test button)
Do not forget to check the Group property in the first item of each group of controls, if needed.

Maybe you should post a more detailed question, as to what the problem is.

That is what the Test button is for.
The Tab Order menu selection shows the actual tab order you set.
What you are describing is the method you wish to use in order to solve a problem and not the real problem its' self.
You mensioned some thing about it not looking (or was that working) right at runtime, in your first post. If it is a tab order problem then the problem should also exist when you run the test, at design time. If the group property is not used correctly that will also cause it to act in an unexpected way (will also show up in test).
I recomend the you get a pincel and paper, and try describe the details of what you are observing. You will probably descover what the problem is while you are trying to describe it to you self.
If worst comes to worst, then open the resource file as text and edit the dialog box by and. The tab order is the order in which the controls are entered into the resource, so you could just rearange the lines to be in the order you want (and remember to set use the group property).
I do not know if any of this has helped, but it is the best I can do without
having the project loaded in front of me.

Z-order meand- visible depth, or sequence how to controls appears- next over previous by look.
It possbile to edit directly ctrl-d, or by sequence in rc file.
Problem is now following:
In design mode I see REVERSE order - from wich I will see really when press test or run-time.
May be some option do this REVERSE ?
Do some one know which option do that and
how to correct?

I want to have an ownerdrawn trackbar (Slider) control. Therefore I check for a WM_NOTIFY event with NM_CUSTOMDRAW in the code member of the NMHDR-structure. Let me give a short code example

Well, this works fine up to the CDDS_PREPAINT part, where I request an interaction into the control's drawing procedure.
But I never reach the most important part of CDDS_ITEMREPAINT where I acutally paint the control. I've read tons of documentations of this function and all describe it this way.
Does anyone know why it doesn't work for my example?

The technique you mention works well for me, but I use a class derived from CSliderCtrl (sounds more logical that an object draws itself), and use message reflection to get the CustomDraw notification (ON_NOTIFY_REFLECT(NM_CUSTOMDRAW, OnCustomDraw))
