a help in vb.net plz

Hi guys,

I just learned vb and I'm at beginner level.

I plan to make a song status changer for msn.
When we play songs in winamp or vlc player then the song which is playing should show the status on msn.

The thing is I get started in the first step only.

My question is that I have to use an api, don'y know which api I should use.
