Working with BDA tuners in VS2010

I have been looking for a straightforward exmaple of using a digital TV tuner under VS2005 but the SDK downloads that most projects seen to be broken, have parts moved over to other SDKs or just plain not there. I assume this is because VFW support has been phased out.
So - starting from scratch does anyone have any suggestions? What is the current tuner/BDA framework?
