How to populate DB from SNMP query

I have no idea where to start and was hoping some of you may be able to provide some direction. I have recently created a server status dashboard in ASP.Net MVC 3 which has been a learning experience all in its own :) Now I have found out that I need to get my server statuses through SNMP and then populate my database locally based off the data brought back.

At this point I am just looking for some direction in where to start. I will not be setting anything in the SNMP call, it seems these will just be gets to pull the data back, in intervals I am thinking. I have read some stuff on SSIS but I am unsure if it will help me in this area.

Again I am new to all this so if any of you have any ideas or recommendations that would be great. Thanks!
