vb.net port program sehe exception

When i tried to light up leds connected to the parallel port of the system using vb.net and while trying to read or write to the port it displays the error message " an external componet has thrown an exception". I had properly installed the DLL file .

OK, first step is done. Now read Exception.InnerException. Not enough information though. Hard to say anything without looking at some fragments of your code. Exception dumps should be full, with line numbers commented in source code when you post it.

How do you think, if someone gave you this little information and asked to find a solution, what would you do?
