Avaiable List of computer in LAN

Suppose Five m/c are connected in LAN & two m/c are shut down(closed).
How will i count the avaiable computers in LAN through right coding???

Please help me.

Solution 1

You can try sending a ping message to see if they respond, but that will not tell you if they are shutdown or just not responding.
