Android Menus Example by WJ Francis

I've just started coding for Android, although many years of Java. In your Demo class you instantiate CustomMenu, but I'm getting an NPE from the call to getLayoutInflater(). I should add that I've simply cloned your code/XML etc into my own Activity class, but maybe I'm missing something :>(
Any help appreciated.
