HI,
I want to create raised and sunken effect for button. As bitmap effects are obsolete in framework 4.0 am not able to do so. Everybody says Effect is alternative to this but i am not getting solution how to get solution for my question. Can any body tell me, how to create raised effect without bitmap effect or using Effect.

What is "button" exactly. There are different classes named "Button". Full name, please. In other words, tag your UI library. The problem is quite solvable, but the solution would be very different for different kinds of UI...

Well you could do what I do for Compact Framework (Due to limitations on UI Controls)

I place a Label behind the button, so it appears as a drop shadow, and due to everything in Windows 8 being flat, I guess that would be not needed for very long.

Similar to that where o = button and x = label

I usually have the label 3 cursor presses up and 3 to the right. But have a play around...

Thanks for your suggestion, it will work fine for button but now i want to use this effect for other user defined controls. Any other suggestion please.
