What I have tried:

int main()
{
    int num[2][2];
    int sum[2][2];
    int i,j,k,l;
    printf("Enter 4 numbers:\n");
    for ( i = 0; i < 2; ++i)
        for ( j = 0; j < 2; ++j)
            scanf("%d", &num[i][j]);

    // passing multi-dimensional array to a function

    printf("\n------------type your next matrix-------\n");
    printf("Enter 4 numbers :\n");
    for (k=0;k<2;++k)
    {
    	for (l=0;l<2;++l)
    	{
    		scanf("%d",sum[k][l]);
		}
	}

    printf("Displaying :\n");
    for (i=0;i<2;++i)
    {
        for(j=0;j<2;++j)
        {
            printf("%d\t",num[i][j]);

You input 2 arrays in this code, why don't you do it same way ?
C++
    for ( i = 0; i < 2; ++i)
        for ( j = 0; j < 2; ++j)
            scanf("%d", &num[i][j]);

    // passing multi-dimensional array to a function
...
    for (k=0;k<2;++k)
    {
    	for (l=0;l<2;++l)
    	{
    		scanf("%d",sum[k][l]);
		}
	}
