Entity Framework Disconnected Entity

I am using SOA architecture in my project.

Client doesn't know about Entity they just know about POCO objects. As I am planning to use basic infrastructure(Service, Business Logic and Data Access Layer ) for other platforms also.

Now problem I am getting is I can't maintain states of Entity. I know there is term called Self Tracking Entity but I don't want to use it as Microsoft doesn't recommend it any more. So what are my option now
