Hello everyone! Now i'm doing my graduation's project. It's about the american sign language recognition system. I intend to use the product HMM method. I have already finished the skin segmentation and hand tracking, now i'm going to do the sign recognition. But the biggest problem is that I don't have the training database. So can anyone help me? Thank you very much.

I hope just a bunch of American Sign English videos could help you to perform the training and feel the database with minimal thesaurus and alphanumeric sign input. I hope it would be enough for your graduation project purposes, but population of the database would be a good amount of work, of course. If you just do the search, you will find some (I used to find such material).

At the same time, I really doubt that you can find the whole database in the format suitable for you. Let's see if some other members knew something like that...

What to you mean by HMM? Is it Hidden Markov Model? Anyway, it sounds like a very interesting graduation work.
Wish you the best of luck.

Hello Sergey Alexandrovich Kryukov! Thanks for replying.
What I mean HMM is hidden Markov Model. And for my project, i don't need the whole database. I just only need database of some sign, such 3 or 4... It is enough for my graduation project.
I think that if I trained my owned database, it would not be reasonable, i can't do it alone. That's why i need available database.
About the minimal thesaurus and alphanumeric sign input. The alphanumeric, it is the static gesture. But i need the dynamic gesture, its meaning is a word, such as "you, home,...".
Also, thanks for your help :)

I understand that, that's why I mentioned videos. I saw some training courses with basic set of videos. I still suggest you can count on creating of your small training database out of some available videos. You cannot do a big one along, but could you make a small one?

Also, maybe even creating a set of videos from scratch could be better in certain aspects, but I don't know if you have the expert in this language who could help you. I assume you know at least some part of the language by yourself...

Anyway, this is a good question...
