how to use a sharepoint project in visual studio

i am having visualstudio 2010 and want to use sharepoint application.when i am selectiing sharepoint project from visual studio it shows that sharepoint server is not installed.plz guide me to do that.

If you see SharePoint 2007 sequential workflow option there then you can forward with it.But if that is not your requirement then you need to follow these:
