The fastest way to see how long it will take is to try it. But it doesn't matter how full the drive is in regards to how long it takes to map. It's your network and computer speed that matter.

1 solution

Why would assigning a drive letter depend on the contents of the target share??

TRY IT and see what happens. Trying something is a very common technique for teaching yourself something.

Go on, map your drive, have a chronometer in hand and measure yourself the time it takes.
There is no way we can guess the time it will take on your system since it depends on your network performance, and on the load on the server at that time.

It is not a command, it is just what has been told : just try it.
And for the insult, I don't see where you have seen such thing. If you are able to point it formally, then I'll apologize.
Given that you seem to be unable to understand an advise when you see one, then you're on your own.
