how to autogenerate number in jtextbox using java netbeans

Hello i am working on java e-project. I want to ask that i have a jtextfield and whenever i click on jtextfield its show me number like this 00001 through sqlserver database and when i save this record next time the jtextfield shows me 00002.

sorry my English is too weak but please help me soon as possible Thank you.

Solution 1

-use label
-use button for saving
- start counting at 0 (starting from 1 is human only!)

most important:

- find simpler project to start programming.
