HTML template to generate word document

Hi,
anyone can tell how to create a template for creating word document from the server side, Get the template from the user via website and process the document creation from the server side.

Why HTML templates? Why not using Word documents as templates? And what exactly do you mean by a template? Do these templates have placeholders that need to be populated with your data?
