how to host a website in our company server

Presently its running as http://ServerName/Websitename

we dont want to see servername.

I need the url should be http://websitename or www.websitename.com

we have windows server 2008 with IIS 7

Please help.

Solution 1

For that you need to book a domain (ex: Goddady.com) and point your dns to the ftp ip i.e, your company server.

Note: There are ways to name a application like you need but that will not work on other machines when you try to access the application or website there.
