I have several scripts that I use all the time and I was wondering if I
could create custom buttons/tools that would execute these scripts,
rather than going through the file>scripts menu?

1. In the Actions panel (upper right corner drop down arrow) select "My Actions"
2. Again, in same panel but after the MyActions folder shows up, select "Button Mode"
3. Any recorded "action" will now show up as mouse-over actuator
4. Also, download the full documentation PDF for your version; there is plenty of good dope on most of the ACTIONS feature.
5. Also consider downloading any VBScript/Actionscript PDF related to "Programming Adobe Photoshop"; be aware platform support comes and goes so this end of the interface is very version sensitive.
