Hi all,

We are using Microsoft Windows Server 2012-R2 with following specifications
* RAM : 32GB
* Intel(R)Xeon(R)CPU E5-2630 v2 @2.60GHz 2.60GHz (2 processors)
* 64-bit operating System
* HD - 5TB (15000 rpm)

And it is used as Domain controller, Active Directory, Antivirus and application server, File server and License server.

Now we are going to develop a new application will use a MDB file in the shared folder in above mentioned server. We will place this application in the specified shared folder and the application shortcut will be placed in user startup so that the application will start working automatically. Please note that the application will connect to the Database only when the user click the "REFRESH" button in the GUI.
Now I need to know that this application will create any additional load on the server. Please advice me on this..

1 solution

Access MDB files are opened on the client hence there will be network traffic from the server to the client, how much depends on:
1) the number of Access connections/clients
2) the size of the MDB file.
3) how you query the data.
