What i sthe best way, in you opinion, to encode or protect your database connection strings on a shared server?

That depends totally on what you mean by shared? is this an ASP.net application on a webserver you are referring? and the webserver hosts multiple apps managed by different people?

Hi,

You can encrypt your config file or the file in which you stored connection string using microsoft encryption class.
