Sometimes, Visual c++ users see a pretty confusing error message when they compile or build their projects. the error message says :

MSIL
fatal error C1083: Cannot open precompiled header file: 'filename.pch': No such file or directory

my solution was :

MSIL
In VS, go to Project->Options, set the Configuration Combobox in top to 'All Configurations', and then from left pan, choose 'C/C++->Precompiled Haeders' and set 'Create/Use Precompiled headers' option to value : 'Create Precompiled headers (/Yc)'.

which turned out not to be an accurate solution (Read the Messages below).

well, here is the solution :

1) Right click on the PROJECT (in Solution Explorer) | Properties | C/C++ | Pre-compiled Headers... here you set to ** /Yu **
2) Right click on STDAFX.CPP (in Solution Explorer) | Properties | C/C++ | Pre-compiled Headers... here you set to ** /Yc **

its done.

once again, I'm afraid you dont get what I said above correctly!

where I've told to change global settings? the path I gave, is to PROJECT's private settings!
and, you are wrong! there is three options not two! Yc, Yu , an nothing (we both say this, but I cant understand why you cant count third one!) you can see for yourself, there is no need for it to be proven. every one can open the path and see that!
and I hope you've read msdn. when Yu and Yc are used together, Yc will be done, cause it is 'create and use' option, for first create. however, if you are really worrying about the speed, you can return this option to Yu after pch is built! what is wrong wit that? this tip is posted to help people who are confused getting the error, and gives them a quick solution. this is not an article my friend! just a tip.

I think I've told enough in previous comment. so, thank you again. Thumbs Up | :thumbsup:
