I had the same problem this morning:
- typed a Solution
- pressed submit and waited
- after a couple of seconds the error message appeared and the solution was still in 'raw' mode
- pressed browser refresh and the solution appeared as posted.

Hi,
When I try to edit my article, I get the following message: Unfortunately you do not have permission to edit this article.
Can you please fix this?

If this is still the case, can you please forward your article update to me (sean@codeproject.com)?
Thanks,

I use boilerplate a lot, and have a "standard message" telling people that what they have submitted as an article isn't up to snuff. It includes two pre-prepared links to an article and a tip here:
Please, look at some of the existing articles here to get an idea of the standard we expect.
Here's one of mine: <a href="https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/728836/Using-struct-and-class-whats-that-all-about">Using struct and class - what's that all about?</a>[<a href="https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/728836/Using-struct-and-class-whats-that-all-about" target="_blank" title="New Window">^</a>]
And here's a tip which is a lot more "code focussed": <a href="https://www.codeproject.com/Tips/1042055/Creating-a-Simple-scratch-card-Control-in-WinForms">Creating a Simple "scratch card" Control in WinForms</a>[<a href="https://www.codeproject.com/Tips/1042055/Creating-a-Simple-scratch-card-Control-in-WinForms" target="_blank" title="New Window">^</a>]
We moderators aren't here to make your life difficult, or to be nasty - quite the reverse, we protect the site from not-ready articles, and authors from the derision and downvotes that poorer articles can receive. And to be a moderator, you have to write articles, so we know what it feels like when you slave away on something and Joe Moron from Stupidity High School, Kansas finds out it's not what he needs to hand in as his homework ...
If we let this though as it stands, it would - at best - be ignored, and more likely downvoted into oblivion.
I'm sure you have put a lot of effort into getting the code right, but articles aren't just about the code: the words are what matters! But when I paste it into a article message: Remember[^]
It gets the href stuff removed:
Please, look at some of the existing articles here to get an idea of the standard we expect.

This has worked for years and suddenly stopped in the last few days.

Have you accidentally selected the "strip HTML" option in the paste options box?

Nope, "As is" is the option I select.
And a quick check says it's working again.
There's something going rather flaky here ... oh well, if we can;t reproduce it, it can't be fixed...

Did you have the "use markdown" or "Treat my content as plain text" checkboxes checked?

I never turn them on. Or off, come to that. And they are certainly set to "off" at the moment.
Is it possible it's related to the "random filter preference" or "random page view preferences" problems that were there at a similar time IIRC?

It's certainly possible. We're discussing that issue this afternoon.

When submitting a QA solution, I get:
Quote: An unexpected error occurred while attempting to create your new entry. Please try again later.
When I reload the page, the solution has been posted.

Same thing happened once using Chrome today.

Was that around midday your time? I can see there was a single database timeout that would have sent that error, but it seems the retry system kicked in without telling the error system not to bother complaining.

Thanks Chris!
I'll keep an eye on it for a few weeks and see if it has gone - I'll let you know either way.

And again just now: https://www.codeproject.com/Questions/5163244/Bad-data-exception-in-decryption[^]
In addition, the paste for that link was pretty slow - ten seconds or so? Then did not give the QA subject line or create its own link, I had to create it manually with the "[^]" button.

I posted one earlier today, and it went through perfectly. Perhaps someone fed the hamsters after midnight?

I think it's severely broken.
When I submitted the article, all of the instances of <T> where changed to <t> , and then the code snippets that had that code in them contained several instances of its attempt to close the tag with </t> .
Also, the cursor was not correctly positioned while typing, appearing to be a character behind.

Is there a chance you forgot to escape brackets with < and > respectively? Usually this happens when one does not escape them: they are treated as tags, and tags are automatically closed to respect ML syntax.
