passing parameter to stored procedure is similar to passing parameters to sql query the only difference is here you use the symbol @before the parameter name
sample code is shown beloce where "@categoryname" is the parameter which needs to be passed to the stored procedure

Guys i am facing a problem, when i am uploading the file i am uploading it in CSV format but when i am opening it ,the browser gives me the alert of open or save in xls format , wht's going wrong,can any one let me know plzzzz reply ASAP.

It's opened based on the mapped application for that extension on the user's computer.

it's not your problems.. you can configure it by going to tools/Folder Options navigate to File Types locate the xls format and click advance and check the BROWSE IN SAME WINDOW and remove confirm open after download

Hi Friends,
I am having a problem. I have been working in web application and its taking too long time( as an experiment I used a stopwatch to get the time 20 seconds ...  ) http://colspace.sytes.net:999/rdemo/[^]
I veryfied the time it takes in server side ... its 0.01-0.02 seconds.(The time gap between page_load and pre_render)
But in client side starting from the HTML line 1 to end of the HTML its taking almost 18-20 seconds.
Can anyone please tell me what are the steps can be taken to load page faster in browser?
I have been using
1. ASP.NET 2.0
2. Master pages.
3. ICallBackEventHandler
4. The home page thats taking 20 seconds is having lots of images and sizes sumes upto 150 KB.

Have you tried a profiler?
The problem seems to be the number of images on your home page.

What is Profilers .NET? I am not quite aware of it. If you can give me bit more info regarding this profiler it would be much helpfull.
And images part I have beening working on. Trying to reduce the image size.

Then change the format option of the detail area and choose a formula on new page before. The result has to be true: {#Counter} = 20

i want to upload files or folders on my server with the use of drag and drop functionality. the files may be one by one draged and droped in a listbox where the whole path of the files should get copied. and then on pressing upload button all the files listed in list box should be uploaded on my server.
pls give me code for the same. its urgent.

I have got some error while connecting Sql Server 2000 from ASP.NEt 2.0
i.e My ASP.NET Application and SqlServer 2000 are avaliable in diffrent machine.I remotly connecting the sql server 2000.
I am getting the following error

Hi,
can you paste your code u are using to connect to the database.
The way it is usually done is pasted below for your reference
The connection stings are specified in the web config file.
In Web.Config, you can add a key to the AppSettings Section
<appsettings>
<add key="MyDBConnection" value="data source=<ServerName>;Initial catalog =<DBName>;user id=<Username>;password=<Password>;">
Example:
<add key="ConnectionString" value="data source=localhost;Initial catalog=northwind;user id=sa;password=mypass">
Then, in your ASP.Net application - just refer to it like this:
using System.Configuration;
string connectionString = (string )ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["ConnectionString"];
try also adding
<identidy impersonate="true"> segment to your web config file.

I exaclty did the same what u mentioned in the above example, but i am used to connect with sql server 2000, but the error says that sql server 2005.
Is there any conflict to connedct with Sql server 2000 from ASP.NEt 2.0 remotely.

try giving the ip address of that sql server in the web config file...

Hi,
I had to run the code in local server after copying it from a shared folder from another system.i am not able to open it at all, the error message i am getting is "web access failed as the default web access is shared mode".Other error message is "required components are not loaded in the local server".Please help because i am unable to continue with my work
