What are MLP neural network algorithms available?

I am studying about neural networks. I am testing a Multi layer perceptron neural network OCR system example in this CODE project site.(
Unicode Optical Character Recognition[^]
Since I am a new guy to this networks I want to know the algorithm used. Is it Back propogation?
Sigmoid function is uses in this project

Solution 1

Don't post this under Quick Answers - if you got the code from an article, then there is a "Add a Comment or Question" button at the bottom of that article, which causes an email to be sent to the author. They are then alerted that you wish to speak to them.
Posting this here relies on them "dropping by" and realising it is for them.
