Problem in running xampp mysql

I installed xampp-win32-1.7.4-VC6-installer. The installation is a sucess, but when I'm starting mysql, it runs but in a few seconds it stops... dont know why??? Please help, thanks

I also faced this issue and this is how I solved.
1. Make sure xampp is not under sub-directory. For example, it should be C:\xampp
2. You might need to run as administrator in running the application.

Hope this will work! If it is not working then check that You already have a version of mySQL installed on this machine that is using port 3306. Go into the most recent my.ini file and change the port to 3307. Restart the mySQL service and see if it comes up.
