Advice about platform changing and career in php

Respected Experts,

Please help me out to solve my query. I have joined a company few days before but on very start I have to do work on php, but i have joined as dot net developer. when i discussed with management they said, u need not worry about platform, everything is same only there are syntax differences and in future we have dot net project also, they told (but i dont think so) as i am beginner and started my career just now please suggest me better decision,also tell will mnc hire php people or not on good package.

PHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML. Yes, it can lead to better jobs, do not focus just on MySQL, but also learn SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, etc.

Also @Mayur: No matter what, keep yourself up to date on .NET if that is the platform you wish to work in. Who knows, one of these days they might put you into such a project and you should be ready to take it up instantly!
