Overview

Toolbar control can be easily populated with standard buttons and in most 
cases standard buttons is all you need in your application. But what if you 
would like to put a combo box or slider control on a toolbar? In this case
the solution, although it exists, is clumsy one and hardly can be considered 
as flexible enough to provide customization functionality (as a reminder, 
in order to put an arbitrary control on a toolbar you have to add separator 
button as placeholder, create the control, initialize it with necessary data
and then call SetButtonInfo function where you specify the index of the 
placeholder button, ID of the control and with of the control). 

The major challenge arises when you try to implement support for putting 
any window on a toolbar as a custom toolbar button is to support the 
customization functionality provided by our Customize Manager Framework. 
Customize Manager allows you to use drag and drop functionality in order to
move, copy and delete buttons. While moving and deleting are not that 
difficult to implement copying of a custom toolbar button is not a trivial 
task at all because it involves the creation of new window and population 
it with some data. Different kind of windows will have different approaches 
for creating their copies. 

From the other side some operations on custom buttons (like moving or deleting 
them or changing their width) can be implemented in the same way independently
of the type of the associated control window. 

So the problem was to create an easy way for creating custom toolbar buttons that
will have an associated window of any kind and will support customization
functionality to full extent. It is not a trivial task to solve and here is 
what we came up with.

Every custom button must be derived from COXCustomTBButtonTemplate class (in other 
words it must implement the interface defined by COXCustomTBButtonTemplate class).
COXCustomTBButtonTemplate can be considered as abstract class that defines the way
to communicate with the window associated with a custom toolbar button in a standard
way that doesn't depend on the type of this window. Here is the list of the functions
that defines an interface to access the custom button associated window.

functions. As you can see these methods are designed for aceessing associated
window, creating a copy of button, removing a button, saving and restoring the 
state of the button. 

Using multiple inheritance and deriving from COXCustomTBButtonTemplate class and
from the class that implements the associated window you can create a custom button
class. This approach will guarantee that a custom button is easily accessible in 
the standard way defined by COXCustomTBButtonTemplate class. 

COXCustomTBButtonTemplate methods can be implemented in more or less standard way
for most simple control windows. We have created new template based class that 
implements those methods: COXCustomTBButtonWnd, which is declared as following:

functions. Here we just briefly outline the details of COXCustomTBButtonWnd 
implementation:

	CBCreate()			uses standard CWnd::CreateEx() in order to create the
						associated window
	CBCreateCopy()		calls internally CBCreateNewInstance() in order to 
						instantiate new object, then calls CBCreate() specifying
						the style and settings (including) window text of the 
						original window and	then calls CBCopyContents()
	CBCopyContents()	just copies the font assigned to the original window
	CBDelete()			hide the original or destroys the copy of the associated
						window
	CBSaveState()		saves window text
	CBLoadState()		restore window text

As you can see the implemented functionality would satisfy only simple window
like edit control or static control. In most cases you still have to derive your 
own class and implement some of the functions. 

The most common scenario would be to provide implementation of CBCreateNewInstance()
function (a must requirement as long as you have to create an instance of a particular 
class) and implementation of CBCopyContents() function where you would put 
the associated window's specific code for copying its contents (e.g. in the case
with slider control you will copy the current thumb position).

Template-based COXCustomTBComboBox class is a good example on how COXCustomTBButtonWnd
derived classes should be implemented. This class is declared as:

(we figured it would be the most popular control to put on a toolbar).

Now when we know how to create custom toolbar button let us move to the topic that
describes how to put them on a toolbar. 

COXCoolToolBar implements full support for the custom buttons. This class has a set
of functions to work with custom buttons. And Customize manager framework supports
customization functionality for custom buttons.

Refer to COXCoolToolBar class reference to the full list of functions related to 
the use of custom toolbar buttons. Here we give you an overview on how to add 
any custom button to a toolbar.

1)	Declare custom toolbar buttom object. You have to guarantee that this object
	will exist at least as long as the containing toolbar:

2)	Every custom button has global scope so it can be put in any toolbar. Before
	inserting a custom button it must be registered using global
